Previewed at the Painting & Decorating Show in Coventry, Crown Trade Grip Extreme is a new waterborne multi-purpose primer designed to provide an all-round solution to the professional decorator’s needs. Based on tough acrylic technology, Grip Extreme offers superior adhesion to even the most difficult substrates, including smooth impermeable surfaces such as ceramic tile and glass at one end of the spectrum and friable chalky substrates at the other.

Crown Trade Brand Manager Debbie Orr said: ‘No decorator can afford to be without a pack of Crown Trade Grip Extreme Primer in the back of the van. It’s a ‘one-stop shop’ as far as substrate preparation is concerned and the ideal solution for all those tricky jobs where standard primers can’t be relied upon. Grip Extreme can be used indoors and out, on treated galvanised and non-ferrous surfaces for instance, and even on really awkward substrates such as weathered PVC. It can also be used on any previously painted surface without taking back.” 

Debbie adds: “Because Grip Extreme is a solvent-free formulation it has no unpleasant odour. That means it’s ideal for use in sensitive areas and more pleasant for the decorator to work. Being a water-borne acrylic primer it dries very rapidly and can be recoated within an hour under normal conditions, so jobs can be completed quickly. It locks in pervasive stains such as nicotine and wood tannin and ensures no show-through once top coats are applied.”
