Amey, a leading UK provider of integrated support services, carried out the comprehensive internal redecoration of the five schools’ main circulation areas.
One of the redecorated schools was Craigmount High School. The stairwells, corridors and dining areas of the school were painted with Crown Trade’s flame retardant Timonox Acrylic Eggshell to ensure the availability of safe escape routes in the event of a fire.
Jim Thorburn, Amey’s life cycle manager, said: “At Amey, we make it a priority to use the highest quality products in every maintenance programme. For this project, choosing the best possible flame retardant paints was particularly important to meet the safety requirements of the schools.
“Crown Trade Timonox was ideal for the project, as it was the only product on the market that could deliver the high performance we were looking for. With proven effectiveness in slowing down the spread of flame, Crown Trade Timonox was the best protective measure we could take to minimise any risk of fire at the schools.”
