This nationwide search for Britain’s most talented young decorators has become one of the most prestigious and respected events in the industry, attracting entrants from all across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Who can enter, and how does it work?
High calibre apprentices, students and trainees are invited to take part in a series of regional decorating competitions, with winners going forward to a high profile national final each Autumn. In addition to a handsome trophy and the Crown Trade Young Decorator of the Year title, there are generous cash prizes to be won.
Who is it endorsed by?
Today the contest is run in conjunction with SKILLBUILD, the non-profit making skills and training promoter, endorsed by the CITB, The Department for Education and Skills, and UK Skills. Through this link with UK Skills, national winners of the Crown Trade Young Decorator of the Year competition may go on to compete against their peers from around the globe in the bi-annual WorldSkills Competition, the largest skills competition in the world.
